Dotty About...Vintage

In a bid to keep up the Vintage theme of the Vintage wedding weekend, the Hubby and I spent our Anniversary in a most gorgeous B & B in Kent run by the loveliest couple - Vicky and Graham Hassan.

The B & B called The Linen Shed is in Boughton Under Blean and is quite possibly THE most beautiful house I have ever been to.

Vicky's great eye and attention to detail and Graham's willingness to help have created such a wonderful environment, you don't even feel like leaving the house!

I have become a very big fan of Beach Huts too!

For more information about The Linen Shed, contact them directly or visit: The Wealden Times

Dotty About...Slattery's

As my birthday pressie, I have been treated to a Slattery's Advanced Sugarcraft course. It's a two day course covering all the essentials plus some fantastic advanced techniques for making cakes.

Slattery's is the North West's most renowned Pattisier and Chocolatier. They run all sorts of fantastic courses and many train many top confectioners. They are particularly famous for their chocolate skills and their AMAZING chocolate cakes.

First day down and I have put together and covered my cake ready for tomorrow's decorating session, and tomorrow evening...an evening tea-party to demolish my beautiful cake! (sorry about the pictures, only had my phone camera and it's, well, it's rubbish!

Assembly of the cake layers
The two layers happily iced
The two tiers neatly stacked (if I do say so myself)
The fun part so far... More to follow tomorrow.

Dotty About...Mum

OK, so I was on twitter this afternoon, and I am very confused as everyone is wishing their Mum's Happy Mother's Day. Mothering Sunday in the UK was a few weeks ago now, but I am guessing from the way people are spelling Mum - Mom that it's Mothering Sunday in America today!

Happy Mother's Day American Mom's out there

Here's what I gave my Mum this year (sorry about the spelling!)
