Dotty About...Daisy's

Well my little floral high notes, it seems that my bezzie Susie was "bang on trend" to quote my friend Katie, when she decided to have a few daisy's and other wild flowers at her wedding.

Daisy-style flowers have been popular for a long time - in the form of the honest, brightly coloured Gerbera which will, of course always remain a big favourite, but now it's time for the little bobbing headed daisy to feel our love.

Some examples of daisy style below. Seriously you have to LOVE these wild, often fairy kissed, little white flowers with the jolly yellow middle. Who as a child doesn't remember sitting on a sunny patch of grass lacing a chain of daisy's together to crown their Grandma "Queen of the garden"? (or is that just me?!)

Note- some of the below images may be of chamomile, very similar to daisy

Dotty About...Pastel Colours

Wow, I had to share this amazing wedding with you. The colours of the cake match the colours of the bridesmaids waistbands.
I am a new found fan of multi coloured weddings. Why have one colour when you can have five?

AMS Design Blog: Love/Hate: Cake or sculpture?: Today's post is officially our 100th post, so I thought we'd celebrate with some cake. When I was younger, my mum used to make the most am...

I hope I can create something as fabulous one day :D

Dotty About...Vintage Buttons

This weekend's bride had the most gorgeous handmade hair decoration with vintage buttons sewn in. It was so pretty, I decided to look for some more inspiring button decorations for weddings. Of course, if you are button-phobic, please look away.

A beautiful wedding which I was event coordinator for last year. Incidentally, the couple have just had their first baby so I am also sending them lots of congratulations. The Bride had inherited a whole box of vintage buttons from her grandma so she incorporated them into her beautiful handmade Table Plan and Place Names.

Dotty About...Cake Pops

One of my best friends is getting married next year, and I am very very excited to be doing not only her wedding cake, but also making other items for her cake table.

I have seen some amazing cake tables on other blogs over time:

SO I am really looking forward to doing some very special things for this one. One of the things we have chatted about in particular is cake pops.

If you have had your head under a rock and have missed the cake pop phase, time to remove your had from the rock! lol.

The wedding is next year, so I thought I had better get some practice in over the next few months to make sure that they turn out the way we want them. She has a specific flower which she wants to try to emulate called Billy Balls!!

Here is my first attempt today. I got a bit carried away with sprinkles, and I think we have a way to go, but I am quite pleased with the result :)
